According to data from the World Bank, in 2023, among all African countries, South Sudan had the highest Male infant mortality rate per 1,000 live births in Africa (78.3), followed by Somalia (73.1), and Niger (72.1). On the other hand, Sao Tome and Principe had the lowest Male infant mortality rate in Africa (10.4).
