According to the FBI UCR data, in 2011, there were 1,206,031 violent crimes in the US; and the violent crime rate per 100K residents was 387.1. Violent crimes are crimes which involve force or threat of force. The specific number and type of Violent Crimes included: Aggravated Assault (752,423), Robbery (354,772), and Rape (84,175).
