According to the FBI UCR data, in 2016, there were 7,919,035 property crimes in the US; and the property crime rate per 100K residents was 2,450.7. Property crimes are crimes were a property is damaged, destroyed, or stolen without the use of force against the victim. The specific number and type of Property Crimes included: Larceny-Theft (5,638,455), Burglary (1,515,096), and Motor Vehicle Theft (765,484).
