According to the FBI UCR data, in 2014, there were 1,186,185 violent crimes in the US; and the violent crime rate per 100K residents was 372. Violent crimes are crimes which involve force or threat of force. The specific number and type of Violent Crimes included: Aggravated Assault (731,089), Robbery (322,905), and Rape (118,027).
