According to the FBI UCR data, in 2015, there were 1,234,183 violent crimes in the US; and the violent crime rate per 100K residents was 384.6. Violent crimes are crimes which involve force or threat of force. The specific number and type of Violent Crimes included: Aggravated Assault (764,057), Robbery (328,109), and Rape (126,134).
