According to the FBI UCR data, in 2017, there were 1,283,875 violent crimes in the US; and the violent crime rate per 100K residents was 394.9. Violent crimes are crimes which involve force or threat of force. The specific number and type of Violent Crimes included: Aggravated Assault (810,319), Robbery (320,596), and Rape (135,666).
