US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Arson Offenses in 2020

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 6,854 total arrests made in the US for arson offenses. There were 5,360 total arrests made in All Cities; 1,039 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 455 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 2,088 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group II - Cities had the highest (3.9), followed by Group I - Cities (3.6), and Group VI - Cities (3.5).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
