US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Murder And Nonnegligent Manslaughter Offenses in 2020
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 8,701 total arrests made in the US for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses. There were 6,510 total arrests made in All Cities; 1,554 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 637 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 2,282 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.
In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (6.5), followed by Group II - Cities (4.9), and Total Cities (4.1).
