US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Murder And Nonnegligent Manslaughter Offenses in 2023
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2023, there were 10,387 total arrests made in the US for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses. There were 8,020 total arrests made in All Cities; 1,701 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 666 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 2,625 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.
In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (6.8), followed by Total Cities (4), and Group II - Cities (4).
