US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Aggravated Assault Offenses in 2022

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2022, there were 275,499 total arrests made in the US for aggravated assault offenses. There were 209,710 total arrests made in All Cities; 51,426 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 14,363 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 89,225 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.
In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (151.3), followed by Group II - Cities (128.9), and Total Cities (116.2).

- Group I - Cities: Cities with a population of 250,000 and over.
- Group II - Cities: Cities with a population of 100,000 to 249,999.
- Group III - Cities: Cities with a population of 50,000 to 99,999.

- Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
- Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
