US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Motor Vehicle Theft Offenses in 2022

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2022, there were 63,342 total arrests made in the US for motor vehicle theft offenses. There were 49,159 total arrests made in All Cities; 10,712 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 3,471 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 19,685 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (39.4), followed by Total Cities (27.2), and Group II - Cities (27.2).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
