US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Rape Offenses in 2023

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2023, there were 16,489 total arrests made in the US for rape offenses. There were 11,750 total arrests made in All Cities; 3,236 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 1,503 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 5,709 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group I - Cities had the highest (6.9), followed by Nonmetropolitan Counties (6.7), and Group VI - Cities (6.4).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
