US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for All Offenses in 2024

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2024, there were 6,624,313 total arrests made in the US for all offenses. There were 4,880,757 total arrests made in All Cities; 1,187,215 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 556,341 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 2,489,407 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.
In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group VI - Cities had the highest (3,695.2), followed by Group V - Cities (2,429.5), and Nonmetropolitan Counties (2,396.2).

- Group I - Cities: Cities with a population of 250,000 and over.
- Group II - Cities: Cities with a population of 100,000 to 249,999.
- Group III - Cities: Cities with a population of 50,000 to 99,999.
- Group IV - Cities: Cities with a population of 25,000 to 49,999.
- Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
- Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
