Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2010, the South Dakota citizen population was 788.22K. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen population (680.73K) and constituted 86.36% of the total. The Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen population (66.75K) and constituted 8.47% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (16.63K), constituting 2.11% of the total citizen population.
