Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2013, the citizen population for Mississippi was 2,932,675 and represented 98.52% of the total Mississippi population.

Among all Mississippi counties, Hinds had the highest citizen population (243.32K), followed by Harrison (185.74K), and DeSoto (160.49K).
