Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2024, the citizen population for Mississippi was 2,904,108 and represented 98.55% of the total Mississippi population.

Among all Mississippi counties, Hinds had the highest citizen population (215.55K), followed by Harrison (206.22K), and DeSoto (187.40K).
