Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2015, the citizen population for Tennessee was 6,298,520 and represented 96.91% of the total Tennessee population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest citizen population (898.88K), followed by Davidson (605.01K), and Knox (431.85K).

In terms of percentages, Meigs had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (100.00%), followed by Moore (100.00%), and Humphreys (99.95%).
