Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the South Carolina citizen voting-age population was 3.62M. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen voting-age population (2.47M) and constituted 68.17% of the total. The Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen voting-age population (977.73K) and constituted 27.00% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (87.66K), constituting 2.42% of the total citizen voting-age population.
