Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the South Dakota citizen voting-age population was 627.07K. The Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group had the highest citizen voting-age population (550.80K) and constituted 87.84% of the total. The Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native Alone ethnicity group had the second highest citizen voting-age population (44.16K) and constituted 7.04% of the total. The Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group had the third highest (12.64K), constituting 2.02% of the total citizen voting-age population.
