Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 945,515 and represented 13.13% of the total North Carolina citizen voting-age population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen voting-age population (221.39K), followed by Wake (145.37K), and Guilford (123.80K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen voting-age population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.33%), followed by Hertford (58.59%), and Edgecombe (57.53%).
