Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2017, the citizen voting-age population for West Virginia was 1,446,500 and represented 78.75% of the total West Virginia population.

Among all West Virginia counties, Kanawha had the highest citizen voting-age population (148.42K), followed by Monongalia (83.26K), and Berkeley (83.25K).

In terms of percentages, Summers had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (82.63%), followed by Gilmer (82.30%), and Doddridge (82.26%).
