Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the citizen population for Mississippi was 2,941,850 and represented 98.57% of the total Mississippi population.

Among all Mississippi counties, Hinds had the highest citizen population (236.25K), followed by Harrison (200.02K), and DeSoto (175.44K).
