Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the total immigrant or foreign-born population in Illinois was 1.80M which was 14.07% of Illinois's population. Among all Illinois counties, Cook had the highest immigrant population (1.10M) and immigrants constituted 20.93% of its population, followed by DuPage (pop: 182.70K, perc: 19.56%), and then Lake (pop: 133.28K, perc: 18.65%).

On the other hand, the counties with the least number of immigrant population were: Gallatin (pop: 15, perc: 0.30%), Hardin (pop: 19, perc: 0.51%), and Calhoun (pop: 20, perc: 0.44%),
