Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,317,960 and represented 19.66% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (494.30K), followed by Davidson (180.03K), and Hamilton (64.36K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (55.64%), followed by Haywood (50.99%), and Hardeman (39.57%).
