Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 39,080,830 and represented 12.63% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.34M), followed by Georgia (3.29M), and Florida (3.04M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (45.84%), followed by Mississippi (37.65%), and Georgia (32.44%).
