Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 1,339,226 people in Hawaii who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 95.99% of Hawaii population), and 55,965 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 4.01% of Hawaii population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 19 - 25 Years age group (8.10%), followed by the 26 - 34 Years age group (7.43%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (5.28%).
