Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 2,985,816 people in Iowa who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 95.14% of Iowa population), and 152,516 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 4.86% of Iowa population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (9.14%), followed by the 19 - 25 Years age group (8.41%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (7.75%).
