Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 1,243,077 people in Maine who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 92.63% of Maine population), and 98,944 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 7.37% of Maine population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (14.46%), followed by the 19 - 25 Years age group (12.00%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (10.63%).
