Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 6,729,979 people in Massachusetts who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 97.22% of Massachusetts population), and 192,326 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 2.78% of Massachusetts population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (5.32%), followed by the 19 - 25 Years age group (4.44%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (3.95%).
