Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 9,430,038 people in Michigan who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 94.68% of Michigan population), and 529,451 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 5.32% of Michigan population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (10.56%), followed by the 19 - 25 Years age group (8.88%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (8.01%).
