Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 5,356,476 people in Minnesota who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 95.40% of Minnesota population), and 258,292 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 4.60% of Minnesota population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (8.36%), followed by the 19 - 25 Years age group (7.15%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (6.63%).
