Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 1,873,156 people in New Mexico who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 90.35% of New Mexico population), and 200,063 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 9.65% of New Mexico population).
The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 19 - 25 Years age group (17.07%), followed by the 26 - 34 Years age group (15.69%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (14.99%).
