Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 1,028,363 people in Rhode Island who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 95.58% of Rhode Island population), and 47,506 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 4.42% of Rhode Island population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 26 - 34 Years age group (8.59%), followed by the 35 - 44 Years age group (6.98%), and the 19 - 25 Years age group (6.80%).
