Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, there were 23,415,482 people in Texas who had Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 82.42% of Texas population), and 4,995,381 people who did not have a Health Insurance coverage (i.e. 17.58% of Texas population).

The following age groups had the highest percentage of their population who did not have a health insurance coverage: the 19 - 25 Years age group (29.32%), followed by the 26 - 34 Years age group (27.86%), and the 35 - 44 Years age group (24.73%).
