According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of births for California was 509,748. Los Angeles County had the highest number of births (132,633), followed by San Diego County (44,686), and Orange County (38,240) On the other hand, Alpine County had the lowest number of births (5), followed by Sierra County (18), and Modoc County (98).
