Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2017, the White Alone population in California was 28,386,645 and represented 72.16% of the total California population (39,337,785).

Among California counties, Los Angeles County had the highest number of people who identified as White Alone (7,127,094), followed by San Diego County (2,507,045), and Orange County (2,275,836). Alpine County had the lowest (795).
