Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, the Black or African American Alone population in Ohio was 1,556,067 and represented 13.19% of the total Ohio population (11,798,292).

Among Ohio counties, Cuyahoga County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (386,338), followed by Franklin County (318,712), and Hamilton County (220,290). Vinton County had the lowest (75).
