Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, the Black or African American Alone population in Vermont was 9,937 and represented 1.54% of the total Vermont population (647,110).

Among Vermont counties, Chittenden County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (4,712), followed by Windham County (746), and Windsor County (673). Essex County had the lowest (47).
