According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 2,337,410 people (of all racial backgrounds) who identified as hispanic or latino in Illinois, which was 18.24% of the total population of Illinois.

Cook County had the highest number of of people who identified as hispanic or latino (1,382,778), followed by Lake County (171,962), and Kane County (169,595). On the other hand, the three counties with low number of people who identified as hispanic or latino were: Scott County (48), Gallatin County (53), and Edwards County (63).
