According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, there were 2,002,575 people (of all racial backgrounds) who identified as hispanic or latino in New Jersey, which was 21.56% of the total population of New Jersey.

Hudson County had the highest number of of people who identified as hispanic or latino (293,019), followed by Passaic County (224,030), and Essex County (210,353). On the other hand, the three counties with low number of people who identified as hispanic or latino were: Salem County (6,535), Cape May County (7,465), and Hunterdon County (10,929).
