According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 25,621 people in Idaho who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 1.39% of the total population of Idaho. Bingham County had the highest number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (3,340), followed by Ada County (3,274), and Bannock County (3,104). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone were: Camas County (1), Clark County (2), and Oneida County (17).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Benewah County had the highest percentage, with 8.69% of its population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Bingham County (6.96%), and Nez Perce County (5.81%).
