Ohio Black or African American Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 1,478,781 people in Ohio who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 12.53% of the total population of Ohio. Cuyahoga County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (370,895), followed by Franklin County (299,771), and Hamilton County (209,173). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Monroe County (19), Vinton County (51), and Wyandot County (81).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Cuyahoga County had the highest percentage, with 29.32% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Hamilton County (25.18%), and Franklin County (22.65%).
