According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 1,423,169 people in Pennsylvania who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 10.95% of the total population of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (630,462), followed by Allegheny County (163,678), and Delaware County (129,242). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Cameron County (16), Potter County (43), and Elk County (80).
In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Philadelphia County had the highest percentage, with 39.31% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Delaware County (22.41%), and Dauphin County (17.76%).
