According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, among Watauga County, NC voting-age population of 46,590 people, 84.83% of them (39,523 people) identified their race as White Alone, 4.88% of them (2,274 people) identified their race as Two Or More Races, and 4.26% of them (1,983 people) identified their race as Black or African American Alone.
