Indiana Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Indiana voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 467,861 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 9.01% of the total voting-age population of Indiana.

Marion County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (193,504), followed by Lake County (89,806), and Allen County (31,162).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Warren County (8), Martin County (10), and Switzerland County (16).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Marion County had the highest percentage, with 26.06% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Lake County (23.59%), and St. Joseph County (11.98%).
