Maryland Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Maryland voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 1,404,055 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 29.16% of the total voting-age population of Maryland.

Prince George's County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (460,461), followed by Baltimore city (265,435), and Baltimore County (192,662).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Garrett County (184), Kent County (2,230), and Queen Anne's County (2,280).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Prince George's County had the highest percentage, with 60.90% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Baltimore city (56.27%), and Charles County (48.19%).
