New Jersey Black or African American Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the New Jersey voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 936,123 people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 12.86% of the total voting-age population of New Jersey.

Essex County had the highest number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population (254,770), followed by Union County (91,052), and Camden County (75,624).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of Black or African American Alone voting-age population were: Sussex County (2,372), Hunterdon County (2,634), and Cape May County (2,768).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Essex County had the highest percentage, with 38.51% of its voting-age population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Union County (20.65%), and Mercer County (18.95%).
