According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net domestic migration for Michigan was -32,995. Oakland County had the highest net domestic migration (2,217) followed by Macomb County (1,672), and Ottawa County (1,604). On the other hand, Wayne County had the lowest net domestic migration (-17,876), followed by Genesee County (-4,920), and Ingham County (-2,698).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
