According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net domestic migration rate for Nebraska was -0.55. Blaine County had the highest net domestic migration rate (49.33) followed by Gosper County (38.35), and Banner County (31.18). On the other hand, McPherson County had the lowest net domestic migration rate (-83.02), followed by Hayes County (-39.55), and Garden County (-33.11).

Net Domestic migration rate for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) per 1,000 of the mid-year population of the county.
