According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2022, the net migration for Michigan was 10,178. Ingham County had the highest net migration (11,166) followed by Ottawa County (2,046), and Livingston County (1,084). On the other hand, Wayne County had the lowest net migration (-15,644), followed by Kent County (-2,064), and Oakland County (-1,775).

Net migration for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county. Or to put it simply, the net migration for a given county is the inbound migration minus the outbound migration for that county.
